Root Collar Excavation

The picture isn’t the best, but we exposed the root collar and pruned girdling roots. In the photo you can see the dirt was about 6 inches too high. This will stress the tree and make it vulnerable to disease and pest. It’s extremely important not to volcano mulch your trees.
