Basal Rot

We removed this oak tree because there was decaying fungus at the base of the tree. The tree only had limbs on one side and the decay was on the other. We recommended removal to the customer to avoid damage to the neighbor’s home. When looking at the stump you can see the soft rot on the left of the stump. It is making a horseshoe shape inside the cambium from the left to the center edge of the tree.
